Sidequests

On this page you’ll find some of my favorite sidequest stories. A sidequest is a term I borrowed from video games like Fallout and Skyrim, where within an epic overarching story, there is occasionally a standalone mission you can do that is only loosely tied to the overall goal of the main quest. Likewise, these sidequests are often offshoots from a larger journey that often lead to an entirely new experience. In other cases a sidequest may just be a short, quick trip on a weekend to follow a road you’ve always wondered about but have never driven down. Or maybe you’re on a business trip to somewhere you’ve never been and decide to take a little detour. Or maybe you go out of your way to secure something that holds sentimental value to you even though it takes you many miles off course but leads to some new experience you otherwise would never have had.
